Because it gets pretty old, the M15x from Alienware gets cheaper and cheaper. And since it is such a nice laptop, I think choosing it would be a good idea. Most games will run just fine, except maybe the latest ones. You’ll need to set a newly released game to lowest graphics mode if you want to run it, but it will run.
So let me review this laptop for you:
First of all, there were people saying that it was pretty heavy. Well, unfortunately they’re right. Also, it does give off a lot of heat – just sitting close to it you can feel it raises the temperature in a small area by a couple of degrees. However, that’s about everything “bad” I can say about it.
On the left side you have the power port, the VGA port, ether net port, display port. The machine comes with an adapter so you can hook it up to an external monitor via HTMI. You also have an USB port and a mlti card reader so you can put your SD cards and stuff. On the right side you have your slot load, DVD burner (on top of which you have another media card reader), BluRay player (which is optional), two headset jacks and a microphone jack, and two more USB ports.
The lights of the backlit keyboard can be customized, whcih is pretty cool. You can make your lights pretty much any color you want (there are a lot of colors to choose from). Any light can be customized, including the Alienware logo.
With Alien Fusion, which is a feature of the included software “Alienware Command Center” you can customize power settings and performance of the laptop. It also has”Alien Touch” which is a facial recognition software that you can choose to use or not. You can very well set a password and that’s it, but if you want, you can turn on facial recognition which is said to work well.
Games run very well at high settings. For example, Call of Duty, Modern Warfare run great at maximum graphics settings. You can deduce how your desired game will run based on this information.
